The Hellinger Institute of Western Pennsylvania was founded in 2003 by Mark Wolynn and Carola Castillo to promote the principles of Bert Hellinger's phenomenological family systems theory


Mark Wolynn is the Director of The Family Constellation Institute in San Francisco. He conducts workshops and training in Inherited Family Trauma throughout the USA, England, Canada and Latin America, and for the University of Pittsburgh's 4th-year Psychiatry Residency Training Program and Graduate School of Social Work's Continuing Education Program. Mark is a contributor to the author of the forthcoming book It Didn't Start With You (Viking, April 2016) Mark is a regular present er at hospitals , clinics, conferences and teaching centers. He specializes in working with depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, fears, panic disorders , self-in jury, chronic pain and persistent symptoms and conditions.

Mark is a Summa Cum Laude graduate in English and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. His graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh and at the University of Arizona was also in English. Mark has published poetry in The New Yorker.

Carola Castillo is the Founder and Director of the Bert Hellinger Institutes of Venezuela, Ecuador and Santo Domingo . A Systemic Therapist and Family Constellation Therapist trained by the Bert Hellinger Institute of Berlin, she supervises, coordinates and facilitates workshops and training programs in Bert Hellinger's phenomenological systemic therapy in Latin America and USA. She has presented her work at the World Congress of Family Constellation Work in Mexico, Germany and The United States, demonstrating the latest approach in individual therapy and shamanism in Family Constellations.
